Tom & Jed
The Rookery Pub, Cable WI
Sunday, July 21, 2019
2:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Tom & Jed will be outdoors on the deck at The Rookery Pub near Cable WI on Sunday July 21 from 2pm to 5pm. One of our favorite performing places, the stage is outback in a beautiful garden setting. Located just seven miles east of Cable, on County Hwy M in the heart of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, The Rookery is casual gourmet dining at its finest. Their ever-changing menu features weekly fresh fish specials, beef & bison steak, specialty salads, housemade soups, and other creative dishes incorporating fresh seasonal ingredients from local producers. Including some of the best vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options you’ll find anywhere. Their full bar offers a great selection of regional microbrews, premium liquor, and more than three dozen fine wines.
Summer 2019 marks the Rookery’s 8th full season of live outdoor music, with free performances every Sunday afternoon from June 16 thru September 29. On music Sundays they feature a special patio grill menu. The grill fires up at 1:30 and the music runs from 2-5. All outdoor seating is first come first served so we recommend you arrive early to secure your spot. The music goes on, rain or shine! We simply bring things indoors should weather conditions prove too harsh for our outdoor covered pavilion.
TrueGrass specializes in reviving music of the old-time masters, adapting modern material to the bluegrass idiom, and creating original songs and new tunes in the traditional stringband style.
All veterans of the Lake Superior Big Top Chautuaqua, with over 100 years of combined professional performing experience, they take a traditional music recipe, add a pinch of influence from rock, blues, jazz, and gospel, spice it with experienced showmanship, and cook up a steady diet of fun to engage your audience on and off stage.
TrueGrass features Tom Draughon from Ashland WI on guitar, fiddle & vocals, Bruce Qualey from Cable WI on bass & vocals, and Jed Malischke from Spooner WI on banjo, resophonic guitar & vocals.
They perform together and with various guest musicians throughout NW Wisconsin and the surrounding four state areas. Whether you have a small venue or large concert hall, a one act show or a multi band festival, TrueGrass can also help you organize, promote, and stage manage your event.
